Fines, arrests for Kurapaty defenders

The Minsk District Court on 3 September heard the cases of three Kurapaty defenders detained on 1 September near Poyedem-Poyedim restaurant. They had been held in a pretrial detention center before appearing in court, reports the human rights center Viasna.
According to reports, the brawl between the activists and the restaurant's guards started over a large stone that Youth Front member Filip Shaurou had put on the driveway in front of the gates. The administration called the police.
Judge Aliaksei Krapachou handed Filip Shaurou a BYN490 ($245) fine for disobeying a police officer. Dzianis Urbanovich received 7 days of administrative arrest. Maksim Viniarski will spend 10 days in jail.
