Finns defeat Russians
The national team of Finland has defeated Russians in a semi-final match at the World Hockey Championship in Moscow today – 2:1.
The first goal was scored by Russian hockey players at the beginning of the first period but Finns managed to tie during the 13th minute.
The score remained till the end of the match and an overtime was announced.
Mika Koivu used the Russian goalkeeper’s mistake (Alexandr Eryomenko) and helped the team of Finland get to the final.
The second rival will be selected after the evening match Canada-Sweden. The hosts of the Championship will have an opportunity to play in a consolation match for bronze medals.
