Fire near Charnobyl nuclear power plant distinguished

On the evening of April 29, Ukrainian rescuers completely eliminated fire near the Charnobyl nuclear power plant, UNN reports. They managed to put out the fire near the NPP at around 12.45. According to information from Ukraine, the radiation background is normal. Similar data is available from the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus.
On April 28, there appeared information about forest fires in the area of about 320 hectares. The fires were also raging in the zone near the Charnobyl nuclear power plant.
It is reported that this was the biggest fire in the Charnobyl zone since 1992. It was stopped 20 km from the NPP and 5 km from the burial of radioactive waste.
