Belarus marks Freedom Day
The Belarusian People’s Republic was declared in Minsk on March 25, 1918.
Minsk City Hall has okayed the traditional celebration rally. Participants will gather near the cinema house October at 6 p.m.. The manifestation will begin at 6.30 p.m. The rally in the central ground of the Park of Peoples’ Friendship will be held from 7.30 p.m. till 8 p.m.
The anniversary of the People's Republic, the issue of political prisoners, local election results, events in Ukraine and threat to Belarus’ independence will be on agenda of the rally.
This is not an official holiday in Belarus.
