General Valery Fralou dies at 67
Valery Fralou, a prominent Belarusian politician who announced his presidential elections for the 2015 elections, dies in his apartment in Minsk.
Valery Fralou has died. The news came from his son on November 10. The circumstances of death are yet to be known. According to his son Dzmitry, he found his father in the apartment, with no visible traces of violent death. The late general will be buried in Hrodna on Wednesday, the farewell ceremony will be held tomorrow in Minsk in Alsheuski street, reports Radio Svaboda.
Valery Fralou was born in Minsk in 1947. Has went up from being a tank platoon commander to the commander of an army corps of the Belarus Armed Forces (the latter position he held in 1994-2000), he was a Major-General. In the early 2000s, he was a member of the House of Representatives, he also was a member of Respublika democratic parliamentary group. He later joined the social democratic movement and was a member of the leadership at the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada).
Valery Fralou said that he was planning to participate in the 2015 presidential campaign as a candidate.
