Head of Belarusian association in Latvia worked for KGB?
The case about possible cooperation of Daugavpils City Council member Boris Ivanov and KGB has been suspended.
The case was suspended because Ivanou is still on holidays without pay and it is impossible to contact him, nasha.lv reports.
An appeal was sent to Latvian Prosecutor General Erik Kalnmeiers earlier. He was informed that Borys Ivanov had concealed the fact that he served in KGB in the 1980s. The Central Election Commission was unaware of it.
Ivanov is the head of the Belarusian Culture Centre of the association “Uzdym” now.
Witnesses are ready to confirm that he worked for KGB. Ivanov served there with him, a witness claims.
Most people are indignant at the fact that Ivanov hid his past form electors. He may lose his citizenship and seat in the city council now.
