Justice ministry officials arrested for graft by KGB
The Ministry of Justice's department head and her deputy were detained when accepting a $1000 bribe.
KGB agents also arrested the founder of a private construction company from Minsk who was trying to give the bribe.
"It has been established during the preliminary investigation that the officials of the Ministry of Justice accepted illegal financial rewards for pursuing positive decisions with regard to the issues of their competence and are connected with their professional activity," BELTA quotes the KGB's statement.
A criminal case under the article that deals with the bribery committed by a group of people has been opened against the arrested officials. The businessman is facing criminal charges as well. All the arrestees are in custody in the KGB pre-trial detention center.
