Hurricane in Australia, blizzard in USA (video)
Nobody has died but some people have been injured.
The strongest hurricane in 30 years has hit Australian Brisbane (a city of 2 million inhabitants). The gusts of wind were tearing roofs off at the speed of 140 km/h. A few jet airplanes have been turned over and electric power lines have been destroyed. 39 people have been injured and 12 have been taken to hospital. 90 thousand houses have been left without electricity.
The record rainfall flooded numerous cars. The natural disaster caused the loss of over $100 million.
A blizzard has also hit New England in the north-east of the USA. About 200 thousand people have been left without electricity.
