Jewish burial site ploughed in Sharkaushchyna area (photos, video)
The Jews were killed during World War II while fleeing from Sharkaushchyna ghetto.
The incident was reported by a villager from Radzyuki Liliana Karachun. During the war, their farm was near the site of the tragedy. Then the German invaders machine-gunned Jews from the ghetto. Several dozen people were buried in the field near the current road from Glubokaye to Sharkaushchyna.
According to Liliana Karachun, there was no sign at the funeral. But the locals knew about the tragedy and tried not to mow the grass and graze cattle there. About four years ago, the local agricultural enterprise called after Markau ploughed this plot of land. This summer cattle was grazing there.
Local residents who remember the tragedy hope that the information in the media will help adequately commemorate the people buried here.
