Kibalchych: I was asked not to write about politics, I refused

Most of the people who attended the first and last class of the third season were journalists. The whole team refused from the courses. The reason for it is the organizer’s political views. Journalist of the Russian First Channel Katsyaryna Kibalchych is not going to hide her pro-Kremlin views and is actively expressing her opinion about the events in Ukraine in social networks. Minsk teachers have decided that any further cooperation with Kibalchych is inadmissible.

“The courses have been disrupted. I noticed that the classes had been cancelled at about 3 p.m. It would be good to meet students and avoid discussing politics and talk about the language instead. There were about two dozen teachers and I have never dictated my will to anyone. If you want the Belarusian language to get out of the ghetto, make your own conclusions.  The courses will be canceled because the Belarusian community has boycotted them. They asked me to leave everything as it was and stop writing about politics on Facebook. I refused… I want this initiative be remembered for having different points of view. They may continue, but they should not mention my name,” Katsyaryna Kibalchych told journalists.

The Belarusian language courses Mova Tsi Kava were launched in 2012. A new project Mova Nanova appeared in 2013 and the courses Movaveda were carted later.
