Kupchyna: Belarus sees no threat in NATO battalions in Poland and Baltic states
Belarus sees no direct threat to its security in the NATO battalions that will be stationed in Poland, Belarusian deputy Foreign Minister Alena Kupchyna said on the decision made at the recent summit of the Alliance when commenting at a press conference after an informal ministerial dialogue of the Eastern Partnership member states in Kiev.
As Euroradio reported earlier, four multinational battalions will be deployed in the Baltic states and Poland. Every battalion will consist of 800-1000 troops. The USA will send its soldiers to Poland, Canada – to Lithuania, and Germany – to Latvia. The move will mean an increased NATO’s military presence on the eastern flank.
