Kurapaty watch activist fined for calling in fake bomb threat

The Minsk District Court has sentenced activist Mikita Naidzen to a BYN 1960 ($830) fine as the young man was found guilty of calling in a false bomb threat, Radio Liberty reports.
Naidzen will be under house arrest until the sentence comes into force. His house arrest started on June 13.
The young man is not going to appeal the sentence and will pay the fine. “I will have to pay the fine. Who else but me?” his mother specified.
Mikita Naidzen is one of the picketers of the restaurant “Poedem, Poedim” situated near Kurapaty. He phoned the restaurant and said that there was a bomb in the building on June 10.
The young man pled guilty in court. He wanted to help Kurappaty defenders and to make the restaurant close after his phone call, he explained.
Naidzen is 28 years old. He is a puncher at Minsk Tractor Works.
