Kviatkouski: Paulavets, Alimkin worked systematically against Belarus statehood
On December 9, speaking live in the Euroradio studio, prominent blogger Seviaryn Kviatkouski suggested that the detained pro-Russian columnists Alimkin and Paulavets had not only expressed their opinions but methodically worked against Belarusian statehood.
Kviatkouski: “It is not about pro-European or pro-Russian views. These men methodically worked the independence of the state per se. They systematically and for a long period of time worked against the Belarusian state."
Belarusian university professor Yury Paulavets and a watchman from Brest Dzmitry Alimkin who wrote for several Russian websites were detained on suspicion of instigating hostility by Belarusian law-enforcement authorities. They face between 5 and 12 years in prison under the Penal Code of Belarus.
