Kyrgyz embassy: Bakiyev is Lukashenka's private guest

Kyrgyz ambassador in Minsk Ishenkul Baldjurova said today that Bakiyev did not come to the embassy and did not call them with any questions. He has been in Belarus as a private guest of Alexander Lukashenka, reckons Baldjurova. According to the ambassador, the Kyrgyz government can seek extradition of Bakiyev only after a criminal case is opened against him. So far, criminal charges have not yet been filed against Bakiyev. But 23 associates of his son Maxim are facing criminal charges.

When asked about $200 million allegedlby taken by Bakiyev out of the country, the ambassador said these are unofficial reports.
