Latvia to enhance security at Belarusian and Russian borders

Latvia is going to enhance security at the borders with Belarus and Russia. The country is going to create a 12-metre border line, Latvian Minister of Internal Affairs Richard Kozlowski said. It will be equipped with modern security systems which will allow to enhance the speed of reacting to possible threats, RIA Novosti reports.

The project should be realized within four years. It will require about 15 million euro.

The measure will be taken because of the crisis in Ukraine and the increasing number of illegal immigrants.
