Latvia may send troops to Ukraine
The U.S. Army will organize the military exercise Rapid Trident 2014 in Ukraine on July 14-25.
About a thousand soldiers from 18 countries will take part in it: Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Romania, Greece, Poland, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Spain, Canada, the USA and Latvia. However, Latvia has not made the final decision about its participation in the military exercise yet. The decision may be made soon, RIA Novosti reports.
Soldiers will practice cooperation between different states’ armies in Ukraine. Officially, the military exercise will be conducted ‘to enhance regional stability and security, partnership opportunities and mutual trust.’
