‘Donetsk People’s Republic’ leader freed in battle near Ukraine border
The incident occurred at the check-point Uspenka at the Ukrainian-Russian border in Donetsk Oblast.
Ukrainian frontier guards detained one of the leaders of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushylin on the morning of May 5. They did not manage to hand him over to the police. A group of armed militants arrived to save their leader soon afterwards. They surrounded the frontier guards and disarmed them. Pushylin was released, UNN reports.
