Russia is building an atomic bomb near Vilnius with the help of Belarus, Lithuanian ex-President Valdas Adamkus said. He made the statement at the international regional security conference held in Vilnius University. Adamkus criticised the current Lithuanian authorities for their inability to convince the other EU member states of the threat that Astravets NPP is posing. He called the Belarusian nuclear power plant ‘an atomic bomb’, Delfi reports.

The Lithuanian authorities are also criticising the construction of the Belarusian NPP. President Dalia Grybauskaitė has mentioned the insecurity of the NPP to the EU administration and U.S. President Donald Trump many times.
