Lukashenka admits he is afraid of foreign oligarchs (video)
Belarus president on October 16 met with the executives of Ukrainian aircraft engine manufacturer Motor Sich.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka was interested in plans and prospects of Motor Sich in Belarus. He also wanted to decide the fate of Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant that has the company's management in its Board of Directors.
According to Lukashenka, he is concerned with the situation in the company. He stressed that if the Ukrainians had "created it from scratch", he probably "would not interfere in the matters of the company." However, Orsha plant "was created by the people", and only then it incorporated.
"I am very afraid of foreign oligarchs, I am very afraid that these oligarchs, God forbid, would appear and start running the country, as it is customary in other countries I'd rather not mention. So I am very careful about this issue," BelaPAN quoted Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
At the same time the head of Belarusian state promised Motor Sich full support in case of an agreement. "Only you must tell me the truth about what you can and cannot do. You should know my ideology and my approach to these issues. If you have any questions, ask me, but when we have decided on something and agreed to build a relationship based on these ideological postulates, we will always work successfully and you will never have problems in Belarus. This I guarantee you," said Lukashenka.
