Lukashenka: Appointments to senior government positions to continue
The backbone has already been formed, however, said the head of state at the Council of Republic meeting.
On January 16, Alyaksandr Lukashenka addressed the Council of the Republic. He presented the new chairman of the National Bank Pavel Kalaur.
Lukashenka said that this year, appointments to senior government positions will continue: "Rotation of personnel in the country is an ongoing process. Therefore, appointments to senior government positions, especially in the election year, will continue, but the backbone is already formed".
Also, the head of state stressed that the new leaders should be "a worthy substitute for experienced and qualified professionals". As to those who give way to the young, they are all ready to "back up" their successors, to act as experts. Lukashenka admitted that "no person ... was fired and moved without their consent", BELTA informs.
It is worth noting that today, former Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich was unanimously confirmed as Chairman of the Council of the Republic.
