Lukashenka approves new CEO at Belneftekhim
President Lukashenka agrees to appoint Ihar Liashenka as new CEO of Belarusian petrochemical giant Belneftekhim.
The previous CEO Ihar Zhylin was dismissed in the beginning of July. According to unofficial reports, he was detained when trying to flee to Russia. Zhylin is allegedly suspected of office abuse. He served as the chairman of Belneftekhim concern since 2011.
"I would like to hear what is going on in Belneftekhim now, what the situation is. The concern has no chairman now for the reasons you know. However, this is his problem (of the former chairman – BelTA's note). I warned everyone that there would be zero tolerance to those who behave dishonestly and try to use the public pocket without putting anything there. It is well known to people," Lukashenka is quoted by state news agency BelTA as saying.
