Lukashenka: Belarus granted inter-confessional peace
The Belarusian state leader said this at the meeting with Jean-Louis Cardinal Tauran, President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue.
"25 confessions co-exist in Belarus, in the conditions of inter-confessional peace and stability. The Russian Orthodox Church dominates in the country while the Roman Catholic Church remains the second relating to the number of believers. I am happy that the two leading churches found the ways they can develop cooperation by," the Belarusian state leader said.
In the end of the meeting, Lukashenka asked Jean-Louis Tauran to tell the Pope that the Catholic confession will hold a decent place in Belarus.
