Lukashenka slams officials over Minsk City delays
Belarus president says he is dissatisfied with delays in the development of Minsk City project.
The President claimed it at a meeting dedicated to the construction of districts for Minskers in Minsk Province.
"I am surprised at Myasnikovich’s and Ladutska’s approach. We agreed about Minsk-City with you. Why haven’t any suggestions been made? Do you think that the territory of 300 hectares will not be controlled in a proper way? The one who offers better conditions should be allowed to build there. How long will you be loafing about?” BELTA quotes Lukashenka.
Lukashenka paid attention to the fact that there are areas that can be used for construction within Minsk ring road. He suggested auctioning them.
The Belarusian President also expressed dissatisfaction with the way governmental plans of development of Minsk’s satellite towns were being realized: “The first apartment building for Minskers is still not ready in Smalyavichy although the construction started in 2012.”
He also drew attention to the fact that there is no more territory that can be used for enterprises and blocks of flats in Minsk: “The construction density in Minsk already exceeds the density in many European capitals, like Berlin and Prague, by 2 or 3 times.”
