Lukashenka to give big press conference today
It will begin at 11 a.m. and will be broadcast live on the First National Channel of the Belarusian radio.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s annual press conference will be given in Minsk on January 29. It will be broadcast live only on the First National Channel of the Belarusian radio and will start at 11 a.m. See here for the online broadcast.
Belarusian and foreign journalists will gather in Independence Palace – 260 people. They will represent 152 newspapers, 16 information agencies, 3 Internet editions, 26 TV channels and 421 radio stations. A Euroradio reporter will be among them.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka will answer questions about politics, speak on economic and social problems and may also touch upon the state of the Belarusian language. He will definitely be asked about political prisoners.
Usually, Lukashenka’s press conferences of the kind take about 5 hours. A similar conference was held on January 21, 2014 but its format was changed: only the heads of Belarusian major state and independent mass media were invited (see the video below).
