Lukashenka: hostage taking is a big disadvantage for me
The head of state connects the negative manifestations in society with omissions in school education.
On Friday, President Alyaksandr Lukashenka met with finalists of the national teacher competition called "Belarus Teacher of the Year". At the meeting, he, in particular, raised the question of relations between the school and the family.
"It is a fact that only joint efforts of parents and teachers we can prepare our children for independent life - BELTA quoted the head of state. - And the fact that in recent years we have seen more and more negative facts in our society, have to do with a huge mistake - yours and mine. The fact that we witness seized hostages, people smoking, drinking, and what's more, using drugs is a big minus for you and me as a government representative. And we must deal with it, radically."
According to Alyaksandr Lukashenka, in this situation, of course, you can refer to the fact that children are greatly influenced by the street, their environment and other processes. "But this is an additional burden to us. Anyway, they come to school, and we have to be very talented to show that it is wrong," said Lukashenka.
It should be recalled that on October 1, a 23 year-old resident of Masty, former commando, attacked BelSwissBank currency echange in Minsk mall Shchastse. He captured hostage the female cashier. Negotiations with the perpetrator lasted several hours, but were unsuccessful. Finally the military operation was carried out: according to unofficial information, the sniper shot the attacker in the head. The cashier was not injured. The next day the young man died in the hospital.
