Lukashenka: I proposed a way to peace in Ukraine to West
The Belarus president made the statement when meeting the leaders of Russia's and Ukraine's Communist Parties Gennadi Zyuganov and Petro Simonenko.
"Unfortunately, nobody needs peace in Ukraine. I suggested my variant and the West agreed – the people who talked to me agreed that it was a normal variant. But I told them: it will be your touchstone – if you want peace in Ukraine, you will have to agree to this plan. Furthermore, it did not require any expenses from them,” BELTA quotes Alyaksandr Lukashenka as saying.
The leaders of Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia and probably Ukraine will meet soon, he added.
"Who could think that such a mess could happen between our three states, the closest Slavonic peoples, in the south of our motherland (I am not afraid to pronounce this word),” the state leader noted.
He would like to listen to Moscow and Kiev’s opinions, Lukashenka added.
