Lukashenka, Obama top foreign leaders ranking in Ukraine
The leaders of Belarus and United States got the best rankings by Ukrainians, according to a poll by Rating.
62% of the respondents in Ukraine said they have positive attitude towards the head of Belarus Aliaksandr Lukashenka, 54% in favor of US President Barak Obama, 51% for German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Only 16% said they are supportive of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The latter tops in the negative territory, with 75% of the respondents against him. For comparison, only 26% said treat Lukashenka negatively (32% against Merkel, and 31% against Obama).
UNIAN reports Aliaksandr Lukashenka's supporters are mainly in the south and east of Ukraine (mostly elderly people). Vladimir Putin enjoys suppot in Donbas only.
