Lukashenka tells KGB chief he is concerned about situation in Hrodna
The head of state also demanded to intensify the fight against corruption.
On November 13, Alyaksandr Lukashenka had a meeting with the KGB chairman Valery Vakulchyk. It was primarily about the fight against corruption. Lukashenko admitted that some of the data is "very serious", that there are certain results, but he still considers the work of state security, as well as prosecutors, "insufficient."
Head of State suggested that local KGB bodies should analyze more of socio-political, economic situation in the regions to present in the future comprehensive information. As BelTA reports, Alyaksandr Lukashenka is interested in the situation in the Hrodna region, source of sometimes disturbing information.
"I am not simply disturbed, I remember what it was before. There was also once an emergency when the governor was shot dead. And it is clear what it meant. And I know that some countries have excessive aspirations to Hrodna region," said Lukashenka to Vakulchyk.
