Lukashenka: We are not anxious about Moldova looking towards EU
In any situation, it is worth looking for options to use them to the benefit of both sides.
Belarus is not anxious about Moldova looking towards the EU, said the head of Belarus Alyaksandr Lukashenka in Minsk at a meeting with Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti, BELTA reports. According to Mr Lukashenka, he takes as a given that Moldova has signed a document on association with the EU.
Mr Lukashenka is sure that in any situation it is worth looking for options to use it for the benefit of the two countries.
"We thank you, despite the fact that, even though, supporting your allies, in some of your promises you had to support the European Union and the United States, you never did it against Belarus. We really appreciate it," said the Belarusian leader.
Mr Lukashenka also drew attention to the high level of trade between Belarus and Moldova - 400 million rubles over the past year. The Belarusian leader believes the creation of joint ventures and access to the large markets of the EU and the EAEC a promising prospect.
