Lukashenka wants 'fair election'

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has declared that the elections in Belarus should be fair. The parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place at the end of 2019. The presidential elections will be held in 2020. During a meeting with the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus Mikhail Orda, Lukashenka said he hopes that the trade unions together with public organizations and political parties (including opposition ones) will actively participate in the election campaign.

“We have to organize this process in a pretty way, with dignity and fairness,” said Alyaksandr Lukashenka. “The unfair election will not do! Listen, frankly speaking, now is not the time to take some weird steps and then be criticized."
