Lyapises not allowed to sing Warriors of Light in Saint Petersburg
The Belarusian rock band is planning to give a concert in this city on August 28.
The local administration and police ‘are worried about the concert’, fontanka.ru reports. Officials do not want the band to sing Warriors of Light. The MIA has already checked whether the musicians noticed in Maidan had drugs on them. They didn’t. However, Siarhei Mikhalok will likely refuse from signing the song. Russian officials consider the song to be ‘a Euromaidan anthem’ and do not recommend singing it.
Furthermore, they are afraid of provocative speeches that may be made on the stage. Officials think that the frontman of Lyapis Trubetskoy will hardly refrain from discussing politics and making statements about the Russian government.
