Mahilou judge imprisoned for 14 years
Belarus' Supreme Court convicts former district court judge in Mahilou for bribery and fraud to 14 years in prison and confiscation of property.
The court sentenced former deputy chief justice of Mahilyou October District Court Magomed Umarov to 14 years in prison (the prosecutor asked for this term) and confiscation of his property. He will not be allowed to occupy positions in state and judicial bodies for 5 years.
Umarov was returned guilty of bribery and fraud. The ex-judge pled not guilty. The other person involved in this case, lawyer Anatol Homanau, was returned guilty of giving a bribe and was put on probation for one year.
