Rally to commemorate Belarusian martyrs in Loshytsa on November 9
The event coincides with Dzyady, a traditional event to commemorate the deceased ancestors.
On Sunday, November 9, a rally will be held in Minsk which will begin at 12 am near the Loshitski Palace of Culture (129 Mayakovsky street). Later in Loshitsa Yar, at the place of mass executions which has a large cross installed in memory of the Belarusian martyrs, a meeting will be held.
There is a permission from the authorities to hold the event. Radio Svaboda provides no information about the organizers, but they are probably members of the Conservative Christian Party of the Belarusian Popular Front, which traditionally holds this campaign.
Loshitski Yar is one of many places in Minsk and the surrounding area, where in the Stalin era, Soviet secret police shot dozens (according to other sources - hundreds) of thousands of people.
