Memorial to Belarusian Sky Hundred hero to be opened in Kiev today
Mihail Zhyzneuski’s parents and Belarusian activists have arrived in Ukraine.
A memorial to Mihail Zhyzneuski, a hero of the Sky Hundred, will be opened in Grushevski Street in Kiev on November 26. The ceremony will start at 13 p.m. Minsk Time, UNN reports.
Zhyzneuski’s parents and Belarusian activists have arrived in Ukraine to attend it.
Although Zhyzneuski is a hero of the Sky Hundred, he is not on the list of heroes of Ukraine signed by President Petro Poroshenko. 25-year-old Zhyzneuski was not a Ukrainian citizen. Georgians Zurab Hurtsyya and David Kipiani are not on the list either. They also died in Maidan. Belarusian activists and head of the Council of the Belarusian People’s Republic Ivonka Survila have asked Poroshenko to make Zhyzneuski a hero of Ukraine.
