Milinkevich says he takes role of 'pro-European leader'

Belarus can remain Belarus only by choosing the European way of development, Movement for Freedom leader Alexander Milinkevich said in an interview with Belapan news agency. In May, the politician officially announced his presidential bid. Now he said he was taking a role of "the leader of pro-European forces".

According to Milinkevich, one of the most important tasks of pro-democracy forces is to prepare for the next presidential elections -- not the upcoming ones -- that will be announced after "the government will be forced to step down".
