Ministry of Information warns Vitsebsk Courier
The Ministry of Information pronounced a written warning to the website Vitsebsk Courier (vkurier.by) on December 26. The website was warned for ‘the distribution of information that may do damage to the public interests’. The article that was the reason for the warning was not mentioned by the Ministry of Information.
Vistebsk Courier is the website of the newspaper of the same name registered in Smolensk. There is no printed version of the edition but the editorial staff is promising to bring it back. Aleh Barshcheuski is the editor-in-chief.
According to the Belarusian legislation, websites can be blocked after two warnings.
