Mirnyi's infection said to have led to complications
Doctors have not yet arrived at a
final diagnosis of Max Mirnyi, who was hospitalized on Monday with an acute
viral infection, the father of Belarus'
top tennis player told ERB.
"Unfortunately, there is no
good news. He is on intravenous. Doctors are trying to bring him to a safe
condition. The virus damaged his kidneys, doctors said, but they neither
identified the virus nor gave details about effects," Mikalay Mirnyi said.
Max Mirnyi and Uladzimir Valchkou
missed Sunday's doubles Davis Cup match against the Poles because of the
infection. Valchkou is recovering at home.
