More than 3K dollars donated for rock covers album by Stary Olsa
Belarusian medieval music group "Stary Olsa" launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to record an album of their versions of famous rock songs. During the first three days, the band collected more than three thousand dollars. In total, 7K USD are needed to pay off copyright holders, the Kickstarter and actually record an album.
"Stary Olsa" have long had in its repertoire covers the world-famous rock songs. However, the idea of the album came to them after their version of "One" by Metallica made for TV project "Legends, Live", received almost 1.5 million views on Youtube and the musicians were showered with positive feedback from around the world.
The following songs will be included in the album: "One" by Metallica, "Another Brick in the Wall" part II by Pink Floyd, "Californication" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da" and "A Hard Day's Night" by The Beatles, "Child in Time" by Deep Purple and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana.
