Russian senator says Poland to blame for WWII

Poland provoked Germany’s attack in 1939, Russian senator announced commenting on Polish diplomats’ explanation why Russia was not invited to the commemoration event dated for the beginning of the Second World War.
The Russian authorities are not interested in preserving the historic truth, Polish deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Szymon Szynkowski said.
Member of the Federation Council for security and defence Frants Klintsevich replied to the statement in an interview with the radio station “Govorit Moskva”.
"Poland is to blame as well as the whole geopolitical situation back then. Poland’s behaviour and the events of 1939 provoked Germany to attack. It happened. Their (Poland’s) treacherous policy before 1939 resulted in it,” Klintsevich claimed.
Meanwhile, this statement contradicts the conclusions of the Nuremberg trials.
The Belarusian authorities were invited to the commemoration events in Warsaw but did not attend them. Our country was represented by Ambassador Uladzimir Chushau.
