Nadezhda Savchenko resumes hunger strike (document)
She will struggle ‘until victory’ now.
The Ukrainian pilot and Verkhovna Rada member Nadezhda Savchenko resumed her hunger strike on March 16. She said it in her letter to interpreter Nataliya Mavlevich, grani.ru reports.
She has already been on her new hunger strike for 10 days on end, Savchenko claimed. “I will struggle until victory now!” the Ukrainian wrote from the detention centre Matrosskaya Tishina.
“I tried compromising and stopped the hunger strike”, Savchenko claimed. “However, there can be no compromise when it comes to honour and shame!!! That is why I cannot stop struggling!” the Ukrainian wrote in her letter.
Ukrainian doctors examined Savchenko on March 14 and concluded that she would need two months to recover after the hunger strike.
