National Bank not to decrease refinance rate in August
The rate decreased 4 times within a year, last time it happened in June, down to today's 23,5%.
The National Bank officials explain that sticking to this number helped to knock down the population's demand for foreign currency. Nevertheless, the National Bank does not give up the plan to decrease the refinance rate down to 13-15% per annum till the end of the year "in case there establish corresponding conditions in the economy", notes the First TV-channel.
The refinance rate defines, in particular, the rates for credits that commercial banks provide to physical persons and legal entities.
