Ninth Belarusian expedition heads for Antarctica
Six Belarusian scientists will head for the Antarctica in November. It will be the ninth expedition to the coldest continent, head of the Belarusian Antarctic expedition Alyaksei Haidashou told journalists.
The ship Academician Fyodorov will leave Saint Petersburg in November and reach the oasis Molodyozhnyi in the east of the Antarctica in December. The construction of infrastructure objects for the Belarusian station and realization of Belarus-Russia joint scientific and environmental projects be continued there.
Belarusian scientists and their Russian colleagues realize 3 or 4 projects a year. They are studying the gas composition of the atmosphere using modern equipment some of which was made in Belarus, BELTA reports.
