No contact with Nigerian kidnappers

The kidnappers of Iryna Ekmo-Uma, the citizen of Belarus, have not communicated with her employers, Iryna's brother Aleh Givoin told reporters in Minsk. He said that according to the information from the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the criminals were expected yesterday to contact the representatives of her company, but did not call them.
The brother of the hostage also noted that the British company which employs Iryna agreed to pay ransom for her release. The kidnappers said they wanted $1.2 million in exchange for the life of the Belarusian woman.

Iryna's daughter studies at the Belarusian State Medical University. She has not heard any fresh information from Nigeria, according to Interfax news agency.
