Official Kiev explains whom it can negotiate with in Donets Basin
It must not be field commanders. Only representatives elected at official elections will be accepted.
Official Kiev is ready to talk to representatives of Donets Basin. However, it should not be field commanders. Only those who will be elected at official elections will be accepted, Ukrainian deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Vadim Pristaiko said.
The current Donets Basin leaders may also take part in the negotiations if they are elected, UNIAN reports. “The elected people (be it Plotnitski or somebody else) will represent the region and take part in the further political process. It is unfair to palm off some Russian citizens or hirelings and make them the leaders of Donetsk and Lugansk.”
Ukraine must finance the territories and make social payments there, separatists claim. However, the country will not send money to the territories where it cannot control its usage, official Kiev notes.
