PACE deprives Russia of right to vote over Crimea annexation
145 members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe vote to deprive Russia of the right to vote till the end of year.
Russians have also been forbidden to take executive posts till the end of the year. The decision was made during a hearing at a PACE session in Strasbourg, UNIAN reports. The Russian delegation did not take part in it and called the discussion a political farce.
PACE will reconsider the issue and the ban may be prolonged in January, Austrian speaker Stefan Schennach claimed.
PACE adopted a resolution condemning the Russian occupation and annexation of Crimea on April 9. It urged Moscow to remove troops from the peninsula.
