Password used to access BelTA wire could belong to SB. Belarus Today
At least one of the passwords used by journalists to access the paid news feed of state-run news agency BelTA belonged to Presidential Administration's newspaper Soviet Byelorussia (SB. Belarus Today), an informed source told Euroradio. A wide circle of journalists has used the password for several years, the source said.
Some publications have been receiving warnings from BelTA for a few months due to unauthorized access to the paid news feed.
Editor-in-chief of SB. Belarus Today Dzmitry Zhuk used to head BelTA until February 2018. It seems that SB. Belarus Today had reported the access problems that the director of BelTA Iryna Akulovich mentioned on August 7.
