Ransom behind phone bomb alert in Maladzechna
Phone terrorists demanded $10,000 for not blowing up several Maladzechna schools.
A headmaster of one of Maladzechna schools complained to the police about a letter saying: “Your school will be blown up unless you send $10 thousand to this purse” at 11.30 a.m. on Thursday.
The same letters were sent to 10 other Maladzechna schools, BELTA reports referrng to the head of Maladzechna District Executive Committee Alyaksandr Yahnavets.
Schoolchildren and teachers were evacuated within an hour. Children were sent back home.
Almaz police commando units and field engineers arrived in Maladzechna from the capital Minsk. Several schools have already been checked. All school will be checked by the end of the day. No explosives have been found in the city.
