Police colonel imprisoned for 13 years for corruption
The ex-policemen was supposed to fight corruption.
Minsk Frunze District Court has sentenced a former police colonel to 13 years of imprisonment.
Minsk Frunze District Court has pronounced a sentence to a former member of the Main Corruption Prevention Department on March 12.
The court announced that the ex-colonel had taken bribes at work, misappropriated other people’s property and urged others to give him huge bribes.
The ex-policemen has been sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment and confiscation of property. He is not allowed to take administrative positions for 5 years. The convict will also have to pay Br598.8 million to the state, the website of the Supreme Court reports.
The sentence has not come into force and may be appealed.
