Political prisoner Andrei Bandarenka announces hunger strike
Andrei Bandarenka was sentenced to 7 years in prison and has beein serving his term in colony No 2. Former entrepreneur and lawmaker Bandarenka wrote in his appeal that he does not see a way out of the situation which is growing into open repressions. Therefore, he decided to go on hunger strike from 0800 on June 15.
The political prisoner is demanding to revoke the verdict which he describes as illegal and unjustified and to stop criminal prosecution. Bandarenka also demands a meeting with representatives of United Civil Party and independent journalists and international human rights groups.
The United Civil Party has called on its supporters to help Andrei Bandarenka by writing letters to him.
