Poroshenko apologizes to Lukashenka, invites him to Ukraine
The presidents of Belarus and Ukraine had a phone conversation in the evening of October 9.
Aliaksandr Lukashenka and Petro Poroshenko discussed the agenda of the CIS Summit that is to take place in Minsk on Friday. Poroshenko apologized for being unable to make it to the summit. He "convincingly asked" Lukashenka "as the chairman of the Commonwealth to relay Ukraine's position to the other participants of the summit"."
State news agency BELTA reports the interests of Ukraine during the summit will be represented by Ukraine's Ambassador in Minsk Mikhail Yezhel (in the picture).

Petro Poroshenko also asked Aliaksandr Lukashenka to relay Ukraine's position over the events in eastern Ukraine to the summit participants. He also informed the Belarusian president about a planned meeting with Vladimir Putin. Poroshenko suggested Lukashenka to meet soon on the territory of Ukraine.
